The Blizzards of 2010
Blizzards may be an overstatement—but this is Louisville, Kentucky and southern Indiana, an area which typically gets around ten inches of snow a year. Wow! What a start. We’ve had snow on four of the six weekends this year. Fortunately, the majority of it came on Saturday morning or Sunday night.
Our Facilities Team is unbelievable. They’ve been operating with very little turn around time. Jeff Long and his staff have about eight young men who work part time and are “on call” whenever it looks like snow. They efficiently and masterfully shovel, plow, and salt 49 acres of parking lots not including all the sidewalks. (Yes you read that number correctly.) They work tirelessly and faithfully so that you and I can make it safe and sound to attend Worship and Bible Studies. Thanks for the great job you all do Jeff Long, Rick Razor, Austin Smith, Bill Davis, Scott Ritchie, Kelly Reimer, Jerry Davenport, Jason Woodworth, Chris McCune, Ben Davis, Zack Wood, Eli Bowman, Brandon Scott and Tony Bice.
By the way, snowstorms offer a great time for families to have some evenings together at home. Take advantage of those occasions when school is cancelled and your subdivision is a skating rink. Colossians 4:5 says “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.” It’s a great time to connect and help out neighbors and build some friendships. Let me know how you’ve used the inclement weather to encourage others this Winter.
If it’s snow and not ice, the Lord willing, the Southeast campus will always be ready for Worship. See you this weekend... come rain, or snow, or sleet or...

You mean to say all that territory is cleared by just fourteen people on such short notice? That seems impossible… dare we say… miraculous? Thanks to the team. They deserve a round of applause and a nice steamy mug of hot chocolate.
